What to expect.

EVERY SUNDAY IS SOMEBODY'S FIRST SUNDAY

Here at Pearl River UMC we understand how intimidating your first Sunday can be. We strive to be an inviting community that cultivates a welcoming atmosphere for first (and second and third and fourth) time Guests. Here's a walk through of what to expect on a Sunday morning.

130 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY 10965 at the corner of John Street and Franklin Avenue.

Parking is on the street. Feel free to arrive a few minutes early.

Children of all ages are welcome to stay in our worship service. Newborn and kids up to 2nd grade can be supervised in the nursery. there is a Children’s message in the beginning of service. After the Children’s message the children go off to Children’s Time (Ages 5 – Grade 2) where they will learn more about the Sunday’s message.

Safety for children is a high priority, so all of our volunteers have been screened with background checks as well as trained to make church a fun environment for your kids.

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES LIKE?

During our worship gatherings we sing songs, read prayers together, and listen to a teaching from our pastor. The gathering lasts about 60 minutes. We celebrate an open communion twice a month. dress is casual.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I VISIT FOR THE FIRST TIME?

expect to be greeted by a friendly face and handed a bulletin as you walk through the door. ask our greeters any questions that you have and they'll help direct you around the church. our info table in the main lobby has plenty of resources and is also a great place to go if you have any questions.

AM I EXPECTED TO GIVE?

HEre at prumc we BELIEVE that giving is a act of worship. however, newcomers are under no obligation to give, nor will they be asked about their finances.

We're excited to meet you! Please hang out after the service to meet our pastor and connect with others. If you have any questions about your visit, please contact us at pearlriverumcny@gmail.com
